Lechlade is the kind of small Cotswold town where you can park once and do everything on foot. Within about two miles you'll find twelve places to eat and drink, eleven shops, ten places to stay, four activities and three things to visit, plus a services listing — enough variety for a full day out, but compact enough that you're never walking far between one thing and the next. It suits visitors who like their sightseeing unhurried: a wander, a long lunch, a browse through independent shops, and the option of staying over rather than rushing back.

A good few hours might start with coffee and something from the counter at Lynwood & Co Café, then a slow loop of the shops — #NOLABELS for clothing and All About Flowers if you're picking something up to take home. Come lunchtime you're spoilt for choice: Colleys, New Wave, or fish and chips from Monica's Plaice if you'd rather eat outdoors. Afterwards, work off the meal with one of the local activities or a visit to a nearby attraction, and finish back in town before you head off.
