Highworth sits on a hilltop at the north-eastern edge of the Cotswolds, a market town with a compact centre you can walk end to end in a few minutes. It rewards visitors who like their days unhurried: within roughly two miles you'll find places to eat and drink, shops, places to stay, an activities venue and a helpful services stop, which is a generous spread for a town of this size. The scale is the appeal — everything is close enough that you can wander between coffee, lunch and a browse without ever getting back in the car.
