This holiday cottage sits on the border between the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, right where the River Windrush winds through the landscape.
You'll find yourself waking to proper countryside sounds, with plenty to occupy your time without needing to travel far. The riverbanks make for excellent walking, and if you're quiet and observant you might spot kingfishers or ducks moving through the water. For those who prefer a gentler rhythm, there's nothing stopping you from settling down with a book and letting the village pace wash over you.
Little Faringdon itself is a working village in the truest sense—the kind of place where you get a real feeling for how rural England operates day to day, rather than how it's been shaped for tourism. Faringdon, the historic market town nearby, has the ordinary shops and restaurants you'd need. If you fancy exploring further afield, Burford deserves a visit for its antique shops and lively high street, while Lechlade-on-Thames sits just along the river, giving you chances to watch boats pass through and discover what lies around the Thames.
The buildings throughout the area—old churches, manor houses, farmsteads—carry the weight of centuries of village life in their walls. This cottage works as an excellent base for exploring the Windrush valley itself or getting to know the wider character of the Cotswolds, whether you're planning active days out or simply after a genuine break from routine.
