in Cumnor

Cumnor is the kind of place you come to when you want a village base with plenty within easy reach. Within about two miles you'll find places to eat and drink, things to do and sights to visit, along with places to stay, so it works equally well as a morning's outing or a longer stop. The scale is manageable, with a village shop, good pubs and walking routes on the doorstep, and there's enough variety that you can shape the day around weather and mood rather than a fixed itinerary.

For a good few hours, start at Cumnor Village Shop for a coffee and whatever you need for later, then walk part of the Botley Health Routes - Blue or head across to the Hinksey Heights Nature Trail, where the paths open out and the views do the work. Come back for a proper lunch at The Bear and Ragged Staff, and pick up something from Michael Cain and Son before you leave.
