The Angel is a gastro pub with rooms on Witney Street in Burford, just off the High Street and about 100 metres from the Tolsey Museum.

The King family has run it since 2011, and it is popular with visitors and people who live in the town alike. As well as cosy rooms for winter, it has a walled garden and sun terrace, landscaped in 2017, for warmer days.
Food is the main draw. The menu is built around fresh, seasonal ingredients, everything is cooked in the pub's own kitchen, and the cooking has earned an AA Rosette. The Angel has also been named Food Pub of the Year by Hook Norton Brewery more than once. Thursday is pie night, when a homemade pie comes with a pint or a glass of house wine, and themed supper clubs run through the year.
The bar serves Hook Norton ales; the brewery is in north Oxfordshire, where the Hook Norton Brewery Shop sells its beer.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, Grouse, Quail and Pheasant, each with at least a king-size bed and an en-suite with bath and shower, and rated 4-star Gold Award by the AA. Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is about 4 km to the south.
