Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens sits at Bradwell Grove, about two miles south of Burford on the A361.
Asiatic lions and southern white rhinos are among the animals kept across the grounds, and the Walled Garden — where the penguin talks are held — is as much a part of the visit as the enclosures. It is a full day out for most families rather than an hour’s stop.
Admission is charged, with a discount for booking online, and opening is seasonal: 10am to 6pm through British Summer Time with last admission at 4pm, and 10am to 4pm in winter with last admission at 3pm. The park closes on Christmas Day, and takes a weekday maintenance closure in midwinter, so check the park’s own site for current times and prices before you travel.
