Things to do
in Woodstock

Woodstock is a small Oxfordshire town that rewards walking rather than driving. Within about two miles of the centre you'll find places to eat and drink, places to visit, places to stay, and shops, activities and everyday services, all of it easy to pack into a short stroll. It suits the sort of day where you park once and then let the streets decide the route, drifting between stone frontages, coffee stops and doorways worth a second look. Come with an afternoon free and you won't run out of things to do; come with a weekend and there are enough beds nearby to make an unhurried job of it.

A good few hours might start with breakfast or a mid-morning coffee at Hampers Café or The Oxfordshire Pantry, both easy places to sit and plan. From there, work your way through whichever of the local sights takes your interest, then pause at The Stables Café when you need a break. Come the evening, the Woodstock Arms or The Punchbowl will feed you well, and The Kings Arms Hotel means you needn't go home at all.
