Glympton is a quiet sort of place, the kind of village you come to for the walking and the surrounding countryside rather than for a high street. There isn't much in the village itself, but within a couple of miles you'll find four places to eat and drink, three worth visiting and one useful service point, which is enough to build a half day around if you don't mind driving or walking a little between them. It suits visitors who like their days unhurried: lanes, fields, a pub lunch, and somewhere with a bit of history attached.

A good few hours might start at Glympton Park, then take in Callow Hill Roman villa, which gives you a sense of how long people have been settling this stretch of countryside. From there, head to The Killingworth Castle Inn or The Duke of Marlborough for lunch, both close enough to work as a natural halfway point. If you're rounding off the afternoon rather than starting it, the Bridge Bar is another option nearby. Look out for the Millennium Milepost at Glympton too — a small marker, but a handy one if you're navigating on foot or by bike.
