Arlington is a small place that rewards a slow visit rather than a long list. Within about two miles you'll find four places to eat and drink, two places to stay, two activities and one spot to visit, which tells you most of what you need to know: this is somewhere to walk, look, sit down for a while and then walk a bit further. It suits an unhurried morning, a lunch that runs on longer than planned, or a night or two if you want the lanes to yourself early and late, when the day visitors have gone.
A good few hours might start at Bibury Trout Farm Shop, where the ponds and the shop give you a reason to slow down, followed by something at the Bibury Trout Farm Cafe if you've timed it well. From there it's an easy stroll to The Catherine Wheel for a proper sit-down meal, or The Twig if you'd rather something lighter with a coffee. If you're staying on, Bibury Camping and Cripps Barn both keep you close enough to wander back out after supper.
