This long-established trout farm has been operating since 1902, when Arthur Severn, a dedicated naturalist, founded what would become one of England's oldest working farms of its kind.

You can spend time wandering the ponds to observe thousands of trout at various stages of development, from tiny fry through to fully grown fish. Watching them move through the clear water is genuinely absorbing, especially if you're interested in how these operations work.

If you fancy more than just looking, fishing is available to visitors of all ages and abilities. It's a satisfying way to spend an hour or two, and you can keep your catch if you'd like to cook it up later. The farm's shop stocks freshly caught trout along with smoked varieties and other local produce, giving you the option to take something home without having cast a line yourself.

The location works well as part of a broader visit to Bibury. You're just a short walk from the village proper, which centres around the famous Arlington Row cottages and the River Coln. Most people combine time at the farm with a gentle wander through the village itself. If you want more substantial shopping or dining options, Cirencester is nearby and makes an easy drive from here.
