This small hamlet sits right along the Cotswold Way, the 102-mile national trail that winds through some of the region's most dramatic scenery.

If you're walking the full route or just tackling a section, this makes a useful stopping point where the path runs through genuine working countryside rather than through villages.

The area is defined by the Cotswold Edge escarpment, which creates wonderful views across the Vale of Evesham to the west. The walking here is varied, moving between open fields and patches of woodland as you follow the marked route. The trail itself was officially designated a National Trail in 2007, though people have been walking these paths for generations, and newer sections have been added since then to improve access and create better connections.

Practically speaking, the hamlet is quite rural and doesn't have facilities within it, so you'll want to plan ahead for supplies. The nearest towns with shops and services are Pershore, about four miles south, or Evesham, slightly further afield. If you're using this as a walking base, you might find it easier to stay in one of the larger settlements nearby and walk from there, but if you're passing through on the Cotswold Way itself, it's a peaceful spot to pause and take in the landscape.
