Hawbridge is a small settlement in the rolling countryside east of Worcester, positioned far enough from the town to feel genuinely rural yet close enough for easy access.

The hamlet has deep Anglo-Saxon roots, historically recorded as Bradingecotan before the name evolved into Bredicot and eventually Hawbridge. The original name comes from Old English, referring to a cottage belonging to someone called Brada, which reflects how these places were named during the early settlement and mapping of the landscape.

This is somewhere to visit for authentic Cotswolds village life rather than major attractions. The area has kept its rural character, with farmland and open countryside shaping the landscape around you. It works well as a base for walking if you enjoy exploring on foot, and its proximity to Worcester means you can easily combine time here with visits to that historic city. Hawbridge appeals to people interested in the quieter side of the region, where you can see how settlements have developed over more than a thousand years without the tourist crowds found elsewhere. It's particularly good if you want to explore the Cotswolds at a slower pace and experience villages as living communities where people actually work and live, rather than as preserved historical attractions frozen in time.
