The Den is a small café on the High Street in Bourton-on-the-Water, and one of the best-known places in the village for vegan and vegetarian food.

Visitors return to it for that reason more than any other: the menu has a wide choice of vegan dishes, including vegan cheese and vegan halloumi, alongside the usual café favourites.
It serves breakfast and lunch, with filled baguettes and bagels, salads, cakes and milkshakes, plus hot chocolate and iced drinks such as matcha. There are gluten-free options too, including gluten-free bagels, and reviewers say the staff are happy to adapt orders. Food can be eaten in, at the few outdoor seats, or taken away, and prices are modest.
The café is in the middle of the village. The Model Village is about 80 metres away, the Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection about 235 metres and Birdland Park and Gardens roughly 420 metres, and the River Windrush with its low footbridges is just a short walk.
