You're looking at one of the historic High Street addresses in Burford, a market town that's been central to Cotswolds life for centuries.
This particular location sits right in the heart of all the activity, surrounded by the kind of buildings that make the street so distinctive.
Walking down the High Street is genuinely rewarding. The street slopes gently toward the River Windrush, and you'll find independent shops, traditional pubs, and cafes tucked into buildings that have real character and history. It's the sort of place where you can easily lose an hour or two browsing for gifts, stopping for a proper pub lunch, or just sitting with a coffee and watching how the town goes about its day.
While you're here, St John the Baptist Church is worth the short walk from the High Street. It's genuinely impressive and worth seeing even if you're just passing through.
Burford itself is substantial enough to spend a full day exploring, but it also works brilliantly as a base if you want to venture further. Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water are both easily reached, so you can combine a few visits and get a real sense of the region without constantly moving accommodation. The town has that rare quality of being both a proper destination and a convenient jumping-off point.
