It has a genuine, walkable character without tipping into being overly commercialised.

Stow-on-the-Wold is nearby, along with Moreton-in-Marsh and the twin villages of the Slaughters, each with different things to discover. The footpath network is extensive, so you can plan anything from gentle village walks to longer, more challenging countryside routes. Having a comfortable base here means you can explore widely and thoroughly while knowing you've got somewhere pleasant to return to at the end of the day.
