This Victorian hotel opened in 1894 and has been a mainstay of Stow-on-the-Wold's accommodation since then.

The Square, GL54 1AB

You're positioned just off the market square, so everything – the shops, antique dealers, and St. Edward's Church – is within a few minutes' walk. The building keeps its traditional character throughout, with a private garden where you can properly relax between exploring, especially on fine days.

There's a restaurant and bar on-site if you want to eat and drink without going anywhere, though Stow has plenty of independent places to eat right nearby if you'd rather venture out. The hotel works well whether you're looking for a peaceful base or a jumping-off point for exploring the wider Cotswolds. Bourton-on-the-Water is a short drive away, and the Slaughters villages are close too if you fancy some quieter countryside walks. Moreton-in-Marsh, also nearby, has a train station for getting further afield. What sets this place apart is that it actually feels like part of the town rather than somewhere you're just passing through – the staff know Stow properly and can genuinely point you toward what you're after.
