Wickhamford is a small village on the edge of the Vale of Evesham, the sort of place you pass through on the way somewhere else until you slow down and notice what's around it. Within roughly two miles you'll find fourteen places to eat and drink, ten places to stay, seven shops and five things to visit, which is a generous spread for somewhere this size. It suits a visitor who likes their days unhurried: farm shops rather than food halls, working orchards and market gardens rather than headline attractions, and lanes that reward a slow drive or a steady walk.

A good few hours here might start at Wickhamford Manor House, where the village's older story is written into the buildings and the churchyard beside it. From there you can work your way through the local produce, calling at Ronald Collis Farm Shop for what's in season and Wayside Farm Shop for the makings of a picnic or a supper back at your accommodation. If you've time for something less expected, Vale Exotics is worth a look, and if you're staying overnight, The Finnick and Longacres both put you within easy reach of the vale.
