Welcome to Castle Combe Circuit, a working motor racing venue sitting just outside Castle Combe village where you can watch or participate in competitive motorsport on a genuine racing circuit.
The track has real depth to its history — it was originally built as an airfield during the Second World War before being converted for racing in 1950. Since then it's been a fixture in British motorsport, hosting everything from club-level championships to major national racing events throughout the year.
You can experience the circuit in several ways. If you prefer to watch, there are good vantage points around the track where you can see cars and motorbikes competing at speed. It's genuinely thrilling to watch skilled drivers push themselves and their machines to the limit on a challenging, fast course. But you're not limited to spectating. The circuit regularly runs track days where you can drive your own car on the course, and they also offer driving experiences where you can ride along or take the wheel in a high-performance vehicle.
The atmosphere here is quite different from the village tourism you'll find at nearby Castle Combe itself, so it's definitely worth a visit if you're interested in motorsport or enjoy the energy of competitive racing. If you need a base for exploring, Chippenham is conveniently close by and has good facilities, accommodation, and services.
