Webb's Patch is a small nature reserve just outside Derry Hill in Wiltshire, offering a straightforward but rewarding way to experience the countryside.
The reserve protects an important area of local habitat, and you can walk its paths to see the plants and wildlife that thrive here. You'll spot various bird species and insects throughout the year, with particular highlights being the wildflowers in spring and the rich autumn colours.
It's not a large reserve, but that's part of its appeal—you can explore it comfortably in an hour or so without feeling rushed. The walking is gentle and accessible, making it suitable for most visitors. The best times to visit are spring, when the wildflowers are at their best, and autumn for the changing leaves.
Derry Hill itself is small, but Webb's Patch sits conveniently close to larger towns if you want to extend your visit. Chippenham lies just to the west and has shops, cafes, and other attractions worth exploring. If you're heading northeast, Calne offers another option for a broader day out in the area. The reserve works well as a peaceful interlude during a wider Wiltshire exploration, or simply as a place to pause and enjoy some quiet time among the natural landscape.
