The Prince of Burford is a pub with rooms at the top of The Hill in Burford, beside the A40 at the entrance to the town.
It is a Butcombe Boutique Inn, run by the Butcombe brewery, and was converted from an 18th-century coaching inn before a recent refurbishment. The AA has awarded it four stars.
There are 16 en-suite bedrooms, including dog-friendly and family rooms, which make it a practical base for touring the Cotswolds or for a stop on the way through. Downstairs, the menu offers locally sourced, seasonal dishes and new takes on pub classics, and the cooking holds an AA rosette. The bar serves Butcombe's own beers along with cocktails and wine.
Inside there are cosy rooms with original features and space for both quiet meals and larger groups, and there is a private dining room for parties, wedding receptions and meetings. Outside, a sunny beer garden has both lawn and decked areas. Dogs and children are very welcome.
The Tolsey Museum and the High Street shops are about 400 metres downhill, Burford Golf Club is about 530 metres away, and Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is about 3.6 km to the south.
