The village of Bourton-on-the-Hill is practically on your doorstep, complete with its historic church and Bourton House Garden, which is well worth a visit. A short drive takes you to Moreton-in-Marsh, a working market town with a notably wide High Street lined with independent shops and cafes. The Tuesday market attracts both locals and visitors, and there's a train station here if you need to travel further afield.

Head a bit further and you can reach Stow-on-the-Wold with its collection of antique dealers and bustling market square, or Broadway, known for its tower and attractive main street. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking, with public footpaths crisscrossing the landscape in all directions. The entire region carries centuries of history beneath its surface—Roman roads still trace routes through the hills, and the medieval market towns that developed here have retained their essential character. Everything is built from that distinctive honey-coloured stone that gives the Cotswolds its particular identity. This location really does put you in the heart of what makes the area special.
