This small village sits in the valley of the River Leach, about five miles south of Burford.

It's the kind of place where you'll find a proper church, a working pub, and stone cottages arranged along quiet lanes that actually feel inhabited rather than museum pieces.

St. Andrew's Church is worth exploring if medieval architecture interests you—there's genuine character in its details. The bridge crossing the Leach makes for a good photograph, especially when the light is golden, and from here the countryside opens up in all directions for walking.

What's really useful about Langford is where it sits. You're close enough to Burford for proper shopping and restaurants if you need them, but far enough out to feel genuinely rural. The Cotswold Water Park spreads across the landscape to the south, and honestly, the rolling fields with their stone walls are the main reason to spend time here.

Most people stop for a pub lunch while passing through rather than building a whole day around the village itself. That's fair enough—it's not designed to be a major attraction. But if you prefer places with real character where people actually live, and you want to see how the Cotswolds functions beyond the crowded tourist villages, Langford gives you exactly that. It's worth a proper wander.
