When exploring the northern Cotswolds, make time for a visit to this exceptional garden, which has been shaped and tended by three generations of women gardeners since the early 20th century.

That original vision has continued to evolve over the decades, creating a place with real personal history and enduring appeal.

The gardens spread across a sloping hillside in a series of terraced sections, each with its own distinct character and offering wonderful views across the Vale of Evesham. Many visitors come specifically for the Kiftsgate Rose, a legendary rambler of enormous proportions that puts on a truly spectacular display when in bloom. It's a remarkable example of what nature can achieve with the right conditions and support. As you make your way down through the different areas, you'll come across a striking water feature at the lowest point, providing a peaceful spot to pause and take things in. There's also a refreshment area where you can rest and enjoy the surroundings.

The garden sits just a short drive from Chipping Campden, a busy market town, and lies very close to Hidcote, another celebrated garden, so you can easily visit both in a single day if you wish. What makes this place special is how it manages to feel both grand in its overall scale and intimate in the way plants are arranged and combined, making it rewarding to explore whether you know a lot about gardening or nothing at all.
