Fossebridge is a small hamlet positioned along the River Coln, making it an excellent base for exploring the central Cotswolds.

The location punches well above its weight in terms of what's nearby. Head upstream and you'll reach Chedworth Roman Villa, one of England's largest and best-preserved Roman houses with impressive remains that give real insight into Romano-British life. Downstream sits Bibury, famous for Arlington Row, a striking terrace of seventeenth-century cottages that line the riverbank. The Coln itself rewards exploration on foot, with pleasant walks along its banks taking you through rolling farmland and past stone villages. Just south of here lies the Cotswold Water Park, created when old gravel workings flooded and now fed partly by the Coln. The result is a landscape dotted with over a hundred lakes, ideal if you want to try water sports or simply enjoy the views from the banks. Being positioned between these attractions makes Fossebridge particularly convenient if you're planning to spend a few days in the area rather than just passing through.
