It's a wonderful place to slow down, perfect for a gentle walk along the towpath of the Oxford Canal, watching the narrowboats glide past. The River Cherwell also flows nearby, providing another lovely route for strolls and appreciating the local wildlife.
Enslow holds a fascinating past, historically important for its limestone quarrying. The local 'Enslow Stone' was a sought-after building material, transported from here via the canal to contribute to structures across the region, including parts of Oxford. You can still sense this heritage around the former Enslow Wharf. While it's a small, rural spot without shops, there is a very welcoming pub, The Rock of Gibraltar, situated right by the canal, ideal for a break and a refreshment. For a broader range of facilities or attractions, you're not far from places like Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace, or the nearby communities of Bunkers Hill, Shipton-on-Cherwell, Tackley, Begbroke, and Bladon.
