Cotswold Glass & Crafts is an independent shop on the High Street in Burford selling glass art, homewares, furniture and gifts made by artists and makers based in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
It was set up by Alison Curtis of Goosey Glass, and her fused glass pieces, from glass animals to seasonal decorations and homewares, are at the heart of the shop.
Alongside the glass, the shop stocks the work of other local makers. Touchwood Crafts makes handmade wooden benches, chairs, stools, tables and lamps; the Littlemore Candle Company supplies candles, diffusers and pillow sprays; and there is art and eco-friendly cards by Jen Winnett, ceramics by Alison Jones and pieces from other local creatives. That mix makes it a good place to find a gift with a genuine local connection.
The shop also runs half-day glass-fusing workshops in its King's Room, where you can make a piece of your own, with festive sessions in the run-up to Christmas; dates and gift vouchers are on the shop's website. It stands about 35 metres from the Tolsey Museum, and Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is a short drive south of the town.
