Burford Lodge is an adults-only bed and breakfast on Oxford Road, the A40, on the edge of Burford, in a Cotswold stone house that was once a private manor house.
It is about an eight-minute walk from the town centre and the Tolsey Museum, roughly 630 metres away, so it suits visitors who want an easy drive in and out with somewhere quiet to come back to.
The rooms are individually decorated, combining modern comforts with antique furniture, and the suites have super-king beds. All of them are on the first and second floors, and as this is a period building there is no lift, though the owners describe the stairs as short and wide. Breakfast is included: a full English cooked to order, with cereals, yoghurt and juices. The owners say they do not cater specifically for special diets but are happy to discuss them.
There is a large free car park on site, a sun terrace looking over Burford Golf Course, and a fire indoors in winter. The same family runs Burford Pantry, a tearoom in the town. Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens is about 3.5 kilometres away by car.
