This small Gloucestershire village sits in the Evenlode valley between Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton, making it a convenient stop if you're exploring the central Cotswolds.

With around 490 residents, it feels genuinely peaceful without any sense of being deserted, and the layout invites you to explore on foot.

The village follows a rectangular street plan that's straightforward to navigate. Head to the northwest side where you'll find the green and the older buildings that give Bledington its character—these structures reflect centuries of rural life in the Cotswolds. The church occupies the southern corner and deserves a visit if you find it open. You'll notice that the southern section has experienced more development since the 1920s as you wander through, though this newer growth doesn't overshadow the village's traditional character.

For those who enjoy walking, Bledington sits on the Oxfordshire Way, a longer-distance footpath that offers excellent opportunities for proper rambles through the surrounding countryside. The terrain here is classic Cotswolds—rolling clay and limestone landscape, green and well-served by footpaths that connect to neighboring villages.

This is the kind of place to spend time lingering over lunch at the local pub, spending a good while in the church, and simply absorbing the real quiet that comes from being just far enough off the main tourist route. You can reach it in about ten minutes by car from Stow-on-the-Wold if that's your base.
