Cleeve Prior is a small village on the edge of the Vale of Evesham, close enough to the River Avon and the lanes running towards Bidford to make it an easy base rather than a destination in itself. Within about two miles you'll find sixteen places to eat and drink, five places to stay, three things to visit and two activity venues, which is a good deal more than the size of the village suggests. It suits visitors who want quiet evenings and open countryside, but who would rather not drive far for supper, a round of golf or a farm shop counter.
A good few hours here might start with a walk out along the field paths, followed by a slow lunch or a pint at the Kings Arms. If you're stocking up for a self-catering stay, Maypole Butchers is worth the short trip for something to cook later. Golfers can fill an afternoon at Bidford Grange Golf Course, a few minutes away by car. For an overnight stop, Fosbroke House and Brookleys B&B both put you within easy reach of Evesham, Stratford and the northern Cotswolds.
