You'll find this working smokery just outside Burford, where they turn out smoked salmon, trout, meats, cheeses, and seasonal game using traditional methods that really build flavour over time.
It's still an active production space, so you can actually watch the smoking process happening—there's something satisfying about seeing food made properly. The attached farm shop carries everything they make on site, plus a carefully selected stock of local and regional goods: proper artisan breads, interesting condiments, and other quality food items that work brilliantly for building a picnic or picking up something to take home. The staff know their products inside out and are genuinely happy to explain what goes into making things, so allow yourself time to have a proper look around and ask questions. Burford is only a short drive away if you're exploring that direction, but the location works just as well as a countryside stop if you're passing through. It's the kind of place that captures what the Cotswolds does particularly well with food—taking traditional approaches seriously and doing them well, without fuss.
