Gloucester is also within easy reach if you're after more substantial historical attractions like the cathedral and the historic Docks.

Tirley Knowle works best as a quiet base for exploring the wider area, rather than a destination with things to do in itself. It's the sort of place that appeals if you're after genuine tranquility and don't mind that tranquility meaning there's very little happening around you.
