This small village sits in the Vale of Gloucester, roughly halfway between Gloucester city and Cheltenham.
Hasfield is the kind of place where you can wander the quiet lanes and feel the pace of rural life actually slow down.
The village centres around St Mary the Virgin, a medieval church with some interesting monuments worth exploring if you're into church history. The surrounding countryside is genuinely lovely for walking, with open fields and tree-lined paths that connect you to neighbouring villages. It's particularly good if you want to explore on foot without the bustle of more popular Cotswolds spots.
Hasfield doesn't have its own shops or restaurants, so you'll need to head to nearby Gloucester or Cheltenham for dining and supplies. That said, it's perfectly positioned as a quieter base for exploring the wider area. The River Severn runs close by, and there are some pleasant riverside walks if you head towards Tewkesbury.
The village has a genuine, lived-in feel rather than being geared up for tourism. It works best as a stop on a country walk or a peaceful overnight stay if you want to experience the quieter side of the Cotswolds. The locals are friendly, and there's something restorative about spending time in a place that hasn't been transformed into a visitor attraction.
