This small hamlet sits between Tewkesbury and Ledbury in the heart of Gloucestershire's countryside, offering a genuine slice of rural England without the usual tourist machinery.
The real focal point is Corse Lawn House Hotel, a handsome Georgian building that's been operating for centuries and effectively serves as the hamlet's social centre. What makes it particularly useful for visitors is that the restaurant and gardens welcome non-residents, so you can experience the place even without booking a room.
The surrounding landscape is working farmland and open fields rather than manicured attractions, which is much of the appeal. It's excellent walking country if you want to explore the wider Gloucestershire terrain on foot, and you'll get a genuine sense of how the countryside actually operates rather than a packaged version of it. The hotel's grounds themselves hold considerable local history, layered with generations of Cotswolds life.
Since Corse Lawn itself is barely more than a cluster of buildings, most visitors base themselves in Tewkesbury, about four miles away, where you'll find proper accommodation and facilities. From there you're well positioned to head west toward the Forest of Dean or east to explore the more famous Cotswolds towns. It's a worthwhile stop if you want to move beyond the main tourist routes and understand how the region actually functions.
