The Stables Tearoom sits in converted stable buildings on the western side of the Cotswolds near Beanacre, a small hamlet that works well as a base for exploring the wider area.
The setting itself is part of the appeal—those original stone buildings give the place genuine character rather than anything manufactured. Inside, you'll find freshly baked cakes, proper scones with jam and cream, and a good selection of teas and coffees. They do light lunches too, which means you can stop by for a proper sit-down rather than just a quick cuppa. The staff are genuinely welcoming, and the whole atmosphere feels relaxed and unhurried, whether you're recovering from a cycling route or just need a break during a day's exploration. Beanacre's location is actually quite useful for getting around this corner of the region. The historic village of Lacock is nearby, famous for its abbey and as a filming location for various period dramas. Melksham, a proper market town with more shops and facilities, is close by as well. Corsham and Chippenham are both just a short drive if you're planning a broader day out. So while it's quiet enough to feel like you've found somewhere genuinely local, you're still well-positioned to reach the bigger attractions and amenities whenever you need them.
