You'll find this delightful village high up in the North Cotswolds, offering a true taste of Gloucestershire life.

While it retains the classic golden stone architecture, the village of Longborough is perhaps most celebrated for its wonderful annual opera festival. If you're visiting in the summer, checking out the Longborough Festival Opera schedule is a must; it's a unique experience enjoying world-class performances in a custom-built theatre just outside the village. Even if opera isn't your main draw, it's a lovely spot for a wander. Enjoy the peace and quiet, admire the village church, and simply soak in the atmosphere. There are some excellent walks right from here, taking you through rolling hills and offering expansive views over the surrounding countryside. It’s a fantastic base if you’re looking to explore this part of the Cotswolds away from the busiest spots, yet still have easy access. You’re only a short drive from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh, which has a train station and good shops. Other charming spots like Bourton-on-the-Hill, Batsford, and the quieter hamlets of Dorn, Upper Swell, and Condicote are all very close by for further exploration. It’s a place that offers both cultural enrichment and tranquil beauty.
