This small Gloucestershire village sits quietly in the southern Cotswolds, roughly 19 miles south of Gloucester.
There's no high street here, which is entirely by design—Ozleworth appeals to people who want to experience genuine countryside without navigating the visitor traffic that builds up in better-known villages.
St. Nicholas Church is the main draw. Dating to the 12th century, it stands somewhat isolated and has real presence, especially its distinctive tower that announces itself across the landscape. The churchyard itself is worth time, offering that sense of how village life once revolved around the parish church as its physical and social center.
What makes the place work is the landscape around it. You'll find rolling hills, dry stone walls, and active farmland creating the Cotswolds scenery most people hope to find. Several walking routes thread through here, and they connect to broader countryside trails that spread across the region. Being close to the Cotswold Water Park to the south and not far from somewhere like Symonds Yat, Ozleworth fits well into a larger itinerary if you're exploring more widely.
Practically speaking, Nailsworth and Wotton-under-Edge are your nearest towns with shops and services, both a short drive away. Ozleworth itself has nothing in the way of facilities, so bring what you need. It's a good choice if you want to slow down and absorb the Cotswolds properly.
