Near Ozleworth in the south Cotswolds sits an alpaca farm that makes for a genuinely different kind of visit.
You can spend time with the animals up close—they're friendly and curious—and most people take them for walks out into the fields, which turns out to be far more engaging than you'd expect. The farm also sits at a proper viewpoint where you get sweeping views across the rolling Cotswolds landscape, so it's worth going just for that if the alpacas aren't your thing, though they usually are.
It's the sort of place to clear your head properly. You can wander the fields, enjoy some quiet time, and let the peaceful surroundings do their work. The location is practical too—Tetbury is a short drive away with its well-known antique shops, and Nailsworth is close by if you want somewhere with good independent cafes and restaurants. Wotton-under-Edge offers more facilities and serves as a decent base for exploring the wider area. This works well as a stop on a Cotswolds trip if you're after something beyond the usual village walks and tea shops, though it absolutely complements those things as well.
