About a mile southeast of Stow-on-the-Wold sits this small Cotswolds village, home to around 150 residents.

It's one of those places where you can easily spend an afternoon exploring without feeling crowded, yet you're close enough to the bustle of Stow if you want shops, restaurants, or a market day visit.

The village itself is straightforward to walk around—you'll find traditional stone cottages and a real sense of how these communities have developed over centuries. St. Stephen's Church sits at the heart of things and is worth a look if you're interested in local history. The surrounding countryside offers genuine appeal for walking, with footpaths connecting you to nearby areas and delivering proper views across the rolling hills that define the Cotswolds.

What makes this place useful is its position. You can base yourself here for peace and quiet, then slip into Stow whenever you want proper amenities, better restaurants, or something specific to buy. Cheltenham is about half an hour's drive if you need a larger town. If you're driving around the region exploring different villages and walking routes, this village offers that slower pace without feeling completely cut off. It's a good spot if you prefer the genuine texture of village life over somewhere more obviously set up for tourism.
