This small hamlet offers genuine peace and quiet within the Cotswolds landscape.
What you'll find here are traditional stone houses typical of the region, arranged in a simple, unhurried way. There are no shops or tourist attractions to speak of, which is exactly the point. This is somewhere to walk country lanes at your own pace and simply experience the rural surroundings without distraction or noise.
Longsplatt works particularly well as a base for exploring beyond the hamlet itself. You're only a short drive from Corsham, where you can visit an impressive stately home and wander its historic high street. Chippenham, slightly further afield, is a larger town with proper shops, restaurants, and better transport connections if you need them. The real strength of staying here lies in the stillness of the place combined with easy access to some of Wiltshire's better-known attractions and walking routes. You get the best of both worlds: a genuinely quiet spot to return to at day's end, and everything else within reach when you want it.
