This place invites you to slow down and really notice the trees and views around you at Westonbirt National Arboretum.

There's no visitor centre to head towards—instead, you discover your own perfect spots as you wander through the grounds. Whether you want to photograph the landscape or simply stand quietly and take it all in, the arboretum gives you endless opportunities for that kind of personal connection.

Westonbirt itself is a world-class tree collection established in the mid-19th century, and it's genuinely rewarding to visit across all seasons. Spring brings fresh growth, summer offers deep green canopies, and autumn delivers stunning colour changes that draw people from across the region. You can follow numerous trails throughout the grounds, many of them accessible to all abilities, or try the Treetop Walkway if you want an unusual view from high up in the branches. Beyond walking, the arboretum takes conservation seriously and runs educational programmes, making it equally welcoming for families, serious nature enthusiasts, or anyone after a good walk.

Westonbirt sits conveniently close to Tetbury and Malmesbury, so it fits well into a broader day exploring the Cotswolds. Plan for several hours at minimum—there's genuinely a lot to see and experience here.
