This independent gift shop in the village of Rowde stocks items that the owner has genuinely chosen with care.
You won't find mass-produced stock here—instead the shelves are filled with handcrafted pieces from actual artisans, including jewellery, home decor, cards, and other objects that have real character to them. It's somewhere worth spending time browsing if you're after a gift with thought behind it, or simply wanting to pick up something with a story and personality of its own, knowing the makers responsible for each piece.
Rowde is only a short drive from Devizes, the historic market town that houses Wadworth Brewery and the remarkable Caen Hill Locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal. You can easily pair a visit here with exploring Devizes' own independent shops and cafes, or taking a walk along the canal path. Though Rowde sits on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, it reflects that regional character of supporting local craftspeople and independent businesses that gives the area its particular identity. The village works well as a stopping point for getting to know both the immediate area and the broader feel of the region, while also backing makers who invest genuine effort into what they create.
