Green Street is the heart of Broadway, that wonderfully wide main thoroughfare that gives the village its name.

It runs through the centre and opens onto a generous green space fringed with red chestnut trees. What strikes you immediately is the architecture: the honey-coloured Cotswold limestone buildings genuinely do transport you back in time, with many dating to the 16th century and later.

Broadway became a magnet for the Arts and Crafts movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when artists and craftspeople were drawn to the area's distinctive character and light. That creative heritage remains tangible today, reflected in the galleries, independent shops, and welcoming pubs you'll find scattered along the street.

The location itself is remarkable. The village sits beneath Fish Hill on the Cotswolds' western escarpment, so you're surrounded by genuinely outstanding scenery. It serves as an excellent base for walking, with good access to the surrounding countryside. Practically speaking, you're positioned well between Evesham and Moreton-in-Marsh, making it accessible without feeling remote. The village has proper facilities while still retaining that sense of being somewhere special, which explains why it draws visitors consistently throughout the year.
