A volunteer-run heritage line following part of the old Great Western main line between Birmingham and Cheltenham, with steam and heritage diesel services running the fourteen miles between Cheltenham Racecourse and Broadway.
Toddington is the operating centre. The other stops are Winchcombe, Gotherington, Hayles Abbey Halt and the two ends of the line, so it is easy to break the journey for lunch or a play area and pick up a later train.
The ride is mostly in the open along the foot of the escarpment, across the Stanway viaduct and through the long Greet Tunnel. Seasonal specials run through the year, including Santa services in December — check which station these depart from when you book, because it is not always the full line.
