This working centre just outside Bourton-on-the-Hill is devoted to birds of prey, where you'll encounter falcons, hawks, owls, eagles, and vultures looked after by handlers who know them intimately.
The daily flying displays are the highlight, giving you a chance to see these birds in their element while the handlers explain their natural behaviours, ecological roles, and the conservation and rehabilitation work happening at the centre. It's informative and engaging without being heavy-handed, and genuinely interesting for visitors of all ages.
When you're not watching the displays, you can walk around the aviaries and get up close to the birds, which really brings home how impressive they are in person. Set aside around two hours if you want to catch a show and explore properly.
The location is handy for combining with other activities nearby. Bourton-on-the-Water is just a short distance away if you fancy a walk along the stream, and Moreton-in-Marsh, a proper working market town with good restaurants and shops, is a quick drive off. It's a solid way to break up a day of village-hopping, particularly if you're keen on wildlife or looking for something that goes beyond the typical Cotswolds experience.
