All Cannings is a working village in Wiltshire that sits at the edge of the Cotswolds, offering a genuine glimpse of rural life rather than a tourist-focused stop.
The village spreads out along a quiet lane with traditional stone cottages and a church that dates back centuries, providing authentic Cotswold atmosphere without the crowds you'll find in some nearby settlements.
The main appeal here is simply being somewhere real. You can walk through the village, visit the parish church, which contains interesting medieval features, and explore the surrounding countryside on foot. The landscape around All Cannings is genuinely rolling and open, with good walking routes heading out into the wolds and down towards the Vale of Pewsey. If you're interested in rural Wiltshire character, this is where you'll find it.
The village itself is quite small, so you won't find much in terms of shops or restaurants within All Cannings itself. However, you're well positioned for exploring the wider area. Devizes is about four miles away and offers more substantial facilities, markets, and the impressive Kennet and Avon Canal. The location works particularly well if you're doing a walking holiday or combining a visit with nearby attractions like Avebury's stone circles or the Vale of Pewsey's archaeological sites.
