This small Gloucestershire village sits just four miles southeast of Cheltenham, making it a straightforward detour if you're exploring the northern Cotswolds.

You're positioned right below Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds, which dominates the landscape and offers excellent walking opportunities with views stretching across multiple counties.

The village itself is fairly compact and rural, centered around traditional stone buildings and open countryside. St Michael's Church dates back to medieval times and rewards a brief visit if you're interested in local history. The surrounding farmland and rolling hills give you a genuine sense of what the Cotswolds offer away from the busier tourist spots.

The main reason most people come here is for walking. Cleeve Hill Common is accessible and well-frequented by hikers, with maintained paths and genuine wildflower meadows in spring. The area works well as a base for exploring nearby Cheltenham, which has excellent restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions, or for venturing deeper into Cotswold villages. The A40 runs nearby, so access is straightforward, though the village itself maintains that quiet, removed feeling you're probably after.

It's the kind of place where you come to walk, breathe fresh air, and appreciate the landscape rather than hunt for specific attractions.
