In the northern part of the Cotswolds, Upper Moor offers a genuine retreat from activity and noise.
This small hamlet is really about stillness and space rather than attractions to tick off a list. The pace of life here is genuinely slow, and you won't find shops or busy pubs within the hamlet itself, but what you get instead are quiet lanes where you can take an unhurried walk, breathe in the countryside air, and enjoy the open views around you.
The handful of houses here are built in traditional styles that reflect the area's long agricultural history. Everything about the place speaks to centuries of quiet rural living—it's somewhere time seems to stretch out, and where the simple things matter most. This makes it an excellent choice if you're after real solitude or want to explore the wider region without dealing with crowds.
For practical necessities, Pershore is a short drive away, a historic market town with a beautiful Abbey and independent shops. Evesham, with its strong horticultural heritage, is also close by and offers more shopping and dining choices. If you're tempted by the more well-known Cotswold villages, Broadway is within easy reach too. Upper Moor works well as a peaceful base that stands apart from the busier spots in the region.
