This small hamlet sits quietly in the northern Cotswolds, offering genuine peace rather than polished attractions.
It's built from the usual warm stone you'd expect here, scattered buildings that reflect centuries of agricultural life when the area prospered. What you see in the architecture tells the story of that long heritage, with properties that have survived largely unchanged.
There's no high street or tourist infrastructure, which is rather the point. What draws people here is the chance to walk unhurried through country lanes, watch the landscape roll gently around you, and experience something closer to how the Cotswolds actually feel when you're not chasing sights. You might spot local wildlife or simply sit with the quiet. It's a good base if you want that sense of retreat without feeling completely cut off.
Evesham lies just a short drive away when you need a market town's practicalities or want to visit its historical abbey grounds. Broadway and Chipping Campden are easily reached if you fancy a bit more activity, with shops, restaurants, and the kind of historic interest those villages are known for. Stratford-upon-Avon is close enough for a day trip if Shakespeare's connections appeal to you. But the real purpose of stopping here is to do very little at all, and do it properly.
