The Ormond is a comfortable hotel positioned right in the centre of Tetbury, making it an excellent base if you want to explore the Cotswolds without constantly changing accommodation.
The rooms provide a welcoming space to relax after days out exploring, and downstairs there's a relaxed bar and restaurant where you can eat, drink, and pick up on the local atmosphere.
Tetbury itself deserves your attention. It functions as a working market town with plenty of independent shops, and antique dealers are dotted throughout – you could easily spend an afternoon browsing between them. The architecture reflects its wool-trading history, with genuine stories embedded in the streets. The 17th-century Market House stands out particularly and sits just a short walk from The Ormond, as does most of what's worth seeing in town.
The Ormond's real strength is how well it positions you for exploring further afield. Malmesbury and its remarkable abbey are only a short drive away, and Cirencester, often regarded as the Capital of the Cotswolds, isn't much further still. If you prefer staying in one place rather than moving around every night, you get solid options for day trips while keeping things simple. Whether you're staying for a single night or a week, this setup works equally well.
