The spa has an indoor pool and the usual range of treatments if you fancy being properly taken care of. The restaurant serves good food and the dining room takes full advantage of those river views. What gives the place character is that it was originally a working mill powered by the river, and you can still see evidence of that industrial past in the buildings and layout of the grounds. Practically speaking, it works well as a base for exploring central Cotswolds without being isolated. Burford, a real market town with independent shops and decent cafes, is just a short drive away, and Witney is even closer if you need anything practical. The overall feel is somewhere that encourages you to slow down and actually absorb the landscape around you rather than rushing through.
